Burt Lancaster

Burt Lancaster, whose birth name is Burton Stephen Lancaster, was born in New York City, USA on November 2, 1913. To begin with he was an all round athlete in high school and toured with his co-athlete as a team of acrobats, appearing in circuses, and nightclubs. Lancaster, Burt served in the Army during World War II (1939-1945), dancing and acting in stage shows for the soldiers. He got his best chance and opening for bigger performance in 1945 when he caught the attention of a Hollywood talent scout while appearing in a play on Broadway. Lancaster became a star in his first film. This film was about the gangster story The Killers (1946) which made him the promising star of the future.
